Movement Is Paramount

It cannot be disputed that movement is key to personal sanity, physical health, and appreciation for an able body. Personally, movement has always been a part of my life, from soccer, dance, and basketball as a child to hitting the gym daily in my adult life. A good portion of my life was spent working out to outrun gaining weight. I tracked calories on my apple watch and often hoped to hit 1000 calories burned from exercise a day. Imagine my heartache when I found out the calorie burn on an apple watch isn’t accurate at all. I have a 200 hr yoga cert that helped open my eyes to what movement can do for you that goes well behind physique changes and drops on the scale.

At Floresse we’ll cover all the notes. Movement for mental health, recovery, functional gains, physique changes, and yes we will touch on weight so trigger warning on that one. Even in my 12 years of being tuned into the fitness world the trends are always swinging. “Light weight high reps is the best choice for women, just kidding women have to lift weights they’ll never bulk and this is the best for your health. Working out in a heated room helps you detox, no actually it could damage your body you should workout in room temperature rooms only.” There are real proven truths about fitness and then there is a bunch of bullshit that tries to make you question yourself to the point of buying into whatever is being sold. I have bought in A-LOT in the past decade and I can report with confidence if you don’t like doing it and you don’t feel good after it isn’t going to last. Fitness should be enjoyable and also give you what you want out of it, and finding what that is for yourself is a constantly shifting endeavor. We will share all the truths, personal findings (that you can take into consideration or dismiss as hogwash), and tools that can be used to help you along your personal fitness journey.
